Microwaves are much longer than X rays and you need a different material than normal safety glasses to protect yourself from microwaves.
Microwave glasses are impractical as harm may be caused at a much broader spectrum of tissue than x-rays. Actually a full face shield of wire mesh is what is indicated for protection from exposure to microwaves.
